One of the best strategy game on the ipad

Do yourself a favor and buy this game.

Really?

10 bucks for that. I want my money back.

A polished gem of a wargame

When this game went up on Kickstarter, I immediately put a large chunk of money on it, because it promised to deliver on a dream – a beautiful, engaging, intelligent wargame for my iPad. If you have ever played a Battle of the Bulge map and counter game, you are bound to love this. The AI puts up a tough fight, the graphics are clean and deliver a strong sense of that fateful winter 68 years ago and the historical story is woven into the game brilliantly. This game will be marked as the dawn of true wargaming on the iPad.

Beautiful and challenging!

This is a first rate war game with a beautiful UI and a challenging AI that is not easy to beat. Well done!

New update, less challenging AI opponent

The new AI thats supposed to be more aware of supply appears to be extremely timid. Its now more concerned with maintaining a continuous front than advancing as the Axis. The AI used to provide a bit of a challenge in the past as the Axis, but not anymore.

DougB

A fun operational WarGame. More scenarios would be fun, would love to see more games, Kursk, Market Garden, DDay/Normandy, etc!

Excellent Game, next steps?

Play it a lot. Needs more scenarios now: NA or Russian Front.

Needs polishing

Dld this game based on positive reviews and am a bit disappointed. Im a fan of tabletop wargames but this one lacks some key features to make it worth $10. - not enough subtypes of units. As far as I can tell inf is inf just different strengths, same with armor. Had many fights where inf just shoots at each other causing no dmg. - why cant I take units from dif districts to attack a central location? huge design flaw that limits tactics. - surrounding a unit adds no bonus to attack or negative to defense, maneuvering to outflank has limited use as no bonus is given and cutting units off of supply takes several days to have an effect. The scenarios in the game usually last 2 or 3 days. - AI needs work - only includes 1 real scenario, because the first one is basically a smaller copy of the main scenario. I played the 2 scenarios as each of the axis/ allies forces and probably wont open this game again until a real campaign mode is added. I enjoyed the limited play, just not worth $10... Price should have been $1.99.

Waste

Dont waste your money, game is actually good but only worth$1.99

Just what we have been waiting for!

BotB is polished, historically in-depth, and strategically rewarding. This reminds me of the old days of pc gaming and is keeping me up way too late...just...one...more...turn! Love it! All future products are insta-buy.

Excellent!

A serious war game for serious strategists. 5 stars for presentation, depth and "the fun" element. I would have loved to see a little more choice with artillery and air support, instead of having them implied in the attack. It would also be nice to call up a "terrain" map to source out roads/ bridges and choke points a little easier but enough plays and you learn the map anyway. This is an excellent platform for all kinds of historical battles and I hope things only get deeper and better. Please dont dumb anything down for the sake of a buck. Please stay away from all that "in app purchasing" crap. I will gladly cough up the dough for games like this. Well done Gents and bring on the desert war!!

production value

Ive been in the game industry for 14 years and I know a polished, passionately designed game when I see one. Im also pretty big into boargames of all sorts including military ones. This game has it all. Just the historical information delivered on a "whats happened on this specific date" format is enough to buy the game. Simply one of the slickest, best presented games on iOS. Thanks for this gem!

A jewel

I have spent countless hours playing both sides all scenarist Niall I can say is I want more! The desert is moving! But get to it, need 3 or 4 more of them. Outstanding!

Superb

Great wargame! I love the way the AI plays and everything about this game is good. I am looking forward to more from the Crisis in Command series.

Wow!

Well worth getting for any strategy gamer. This is THE strategic war game on iOS. Looking forward to more titles from the developers.

Great!

I play very few games, and rarely spend much money on them. I bought this on whim, based on a recommendation on The Loop, and I have not regretted it. Yes, I would like more scenarios, but what you get is defintely worth the ten bucks. Ive spent more on Mac games that just sit on my hard drive, that I plan to play sometime. This one, I find I just keep picking up. Great job! Update: More scenarios were added since my first review, iPhone support was added (which even works on my 3GS), and more titles are coming. Unfortunately, I cannot increase my score!

Not worth it

You pay 10 bucks for a single scenario, to put it in perspective for you its like buying angry birds and only playing the first level, the only strategy in this game is ripping you off, one level for 10 bucks

Rip off

Bitterly disappointed in this game. The Lite version and the Full version seem to virtually the same thing!? Ten bucks for a game I finished in an hour, I want my money back!

Too expensive

Excellent engine and texture, but highway robbery to pay money for what has the same playing time as a demo. Their model seems to be to get you to play and then do serial in game purchases to do small tweaks. Its not worth the money yet.

Ridiculous!

I dont get it, you pay $10, and you can play one scenario that takes place across three days. The entire game takes no longer than ten minutes to complete and then its over? The game is nice, but has to go down in history as one of the biggest rip offs in app history. Oh wait, I can pay another two bucks in in-app purchase and play the same game with random unit placements! Let me go ahead and do that....
